Kayaking on the Outer Banks

Whether you are exploring the salt marsh or surfing ocean waves, kayaking is a great way to enjoy the amazing natural beauty of the Outer Banks, not to mention great exercise, and very easy to learn. Carolina Outdoors, a division of Kitty Hawk Kites, specializes in kayak eco-tours, kayak rentals, and kayak sales.

Our guided kayak eco-tours on the calm relaxing sound, allow you to see a side of the Outer Banks that most people never get the chance to see. No experience is necessary! Our kayak tours are great for beginner to more advanced kayakers. There are 8 different locations to choose from, so no matter where you are staying, we have a kayak tour for you. We also offer unique specialty tours such as moonlight and bioluminescence kayak tours as well as guided kayak fishing charters.

We offer kayak rentals for both single and tandem, sit-on-top, recreational, and touring kayaks from Corolla to Hatteras. Paddle directly from some of our locations, or transport the kayak to the beach or your favorite paddling destination. You can rent for 2 hours, all day, 24 hours, 3 days, or all week. Your paddles and life jackets are included as well as ropes to tie the kayak down to your vehicle's luggage rack.

We are dealers of Wilderness Systems and Feel Free Kayaks. In the fall and winter, we also have a large selection of used kayaks. We carry several different models of sit-on-top, recreational, light touring, and touring kayaks. You can also find a full line of accessories to outfit your kayak in our Carolina Outdoors store, across from Jockey's Ridge State Park in Nags Head on the Outer Banks.
